Why We Love It
Have you ever seen anything quite like it?! A spin on a classic solitaire with curving sides that add a distinct look to this vintage stunner! Add in a gorgeous old Euro with a lovely, warm hue and you have yourself a one-of-a-kind engagement ring! With platinum and gold, you get the best of both worlds—the classic warmth and color of gold with the stylistic appeal of platinum. The platinum topping also serves a practical function here. Being more dense and more durable than gold, platinum is one of the most ideal settings for diamonds—and one of the most secure! This two-tone curved engagement ring is an absolutely distinct treasure!
Edwardian Inspiration, Distinct Vintage Flair
The Ginny ring is undeniably unique, so what makes it Edwardian? Its curved features and platinum-topped yellow gold setting! The Edwardian Era was brief but distinct, lasting for approximately the first decade of the 20th century. As the successor to the Victorian Era, it’s famous for being opulent, ornate, and organic. Edwardian style features flowing floral designs along with bows, ribbons, and wreaths. In the Ginny ring, the curved features suggest all of these qualities, shaped like holly leaves or even ivy, adorning the central diamond like a crown.
The Ginny ring is also interesting because it’s actually a very late Edwardian style. Circa 1915, the Ginny ring was crafted right between the Edwardian and Art Deco Eras, and the ring itself reveals this shift. Instead of depicting leaves as we would find them in nature, the leaf-like pattern is somewhat more abstract and modernist. Just as the gold and platinum come together beautifully in this curved ring, so too do the vintage styles that inspired its design!
