Vintage Halo Diamond Engagement Ring
The Hazel Ring is a vintage halo diamond engagement ring from the Art Deco Era circa 1920! This stunning piece centers a old European cut diamond weighing 1.93 carats of M color, S1 clarity. The diamond is held in 4 tab-style platinum prongs. The central diamond is surrounded by a halo of single cut diamonds, with 7 diamonds both to the north and south. The halo stones are set in individual, fanning-out sections decorated with millegrain. There is an additional bead-set diamond to each side. The side diamonds combine for an approximate 0.12 carats. The ring is size 6 and can be resized to some sizes!
WHY WE LOVE IT
We were in love with Hazel at first sight! This stunner has a perfect diamond that has the appearance of a 2.20 carat diamond! The light ripples across the stone in the most beautiful way! The craftsmanship and detail in the halo-like design are incredible and look amazing on the finger!
SAY HELLO TO HALO!
Hazel’s diamond halo creates a dazzling sparkle, adding size and glitter to the center stone in a wonderful way. At 1.93 carats, the already-large diamond looks amazing in this setting!
At Victor Barboné, we love sharing the history of these vintage treasures! Extremely popular today, the first halo diamond engagement rings date back to the early Georgian era in the mid-18th century. These first halo rings featured diamonds or pearls just smaller than the central stones. During the Victorian period (late 19th century), jewelers began to experiment with adding colored gems to give their rings a more floral look. But, the classic halo engagement ring style that many recognize today has its origins in the Art Deco Era of the 1920s—and Hazel is the perfect example!
The halo pattern is divided into clear, even sections and highlights the Art Deco emphasis on linear, symmetrical and geometric designs. The millegrain detailing throughout the ring further emphasizes the lines and patterns for a bold, well-defined look that embodies the Art Deco style! Definitely one of the best vintage halo diamond engagement rings we’ve seen!
