Vintage Marquise Diamond Engagement Ring
The Valentina ring is a vintage marquise diamond engagement ring from the Art Deco era circa 1925. This ring centers a gorgeous marquise diamond weighing 2.58 carats of J color, SI1 clarity. The diamond is held in a 12-prong platinum setting with a thin, understated platinum band. The ring is size 5 and can be resized!
WHY WE LOVE IT
Marquise diamonds are such elegant shapes! This old cut marquise offers such great quality with a super simple setting! The diamond is so gorgeous and scintillating and sits very low to the finger!
A DIAMOND CUT WITH A HISTORY OF ROMANCE
We love vintage engagement rings because of their rich histories and the stories contained within each piece. Valentina’s incredible marquise cut diamond has its own story to tell. The marquise cut was originally invented in the 17th century, when King Louis XIV commissioned jewelers to reproduce the brilliance of his lover’s smile. This cut produces an incredible fire that sends a message of romance and opulence!
MAKE A BOLD STATEMENT
With its unique shape and precise cuts, the marquise shape makes the diamond seem larger and more radiant. And, if you start with a sizable 2.58 carat stone like Valentina’s, the result is a ring that’s nothing short of breathtaking!
The Art Deco pension for balance and symmetry is on full display here as well. We love how the remainder of the ring is fairly modest and subtle, showcasing the incredible diamond while helping to create an overall balanced look that’s not over the top. The diamond itself has a low profile, with 12 minimal prongs. The band is simple too—but not without its own subtle accents, such as the lovely split shoulders!
We simply adore this vintage marquise diamond engagement ring!
